Privacy Policy
Rash Identifier · Last updated: July 31, 2026
The short version
Rash Identifier is designed to be private by default. Your photos and scan history are stored locally on your device. We do not run accounts, and we do not sell your data.
What the app processes
- Photos you take or import — stored only on your device and included in PDF reports only when you choose to export them.
- Intake answers (body area, symptoms, duration, optional skin tone) — stored locally with each scan.
- Reminders — scheduled as local notifications on your device; nothing leaves your phone.
What leaves your device
- Analysis — if remote analysis is enabled, the photo and your intake answers are sent to our analysis server solely to produce your result. They are not stored or used for anything else.
- Analytics & crash reports (Firebase) — anonymous usage events and crash diagnostics that help us fix bugs. You can opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy & data.
- Subscriptions — purchases are processed by Apple or Google via RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.
Your choices
- Export — you can export all of your data at any time from Settings.
- Delete — deleting a scan or using “Delete all data” in Settings removes your photos and history from the device permanently.
- Permissions — camera, photo library, and notification access are requested only when needed and can be revoked in your device settings.
Third-party content
The condition library includes example photos from Wikimedia Commons, each shown with its author and license inside the app.
Children
The app may be used by a parent or guardian to check a child’s skin. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
